Stingy, to understand that youll have to understand Japanese society as a whole. Without getting too political I'll just say that shows like this tend to be disrespectful to their strict moral views on sexuality. Another problem is that adults are a smaller target demographic for anime programming compared to the younger demographic, who is likely too young to view this kind of show in the first place. This seems to be the opposite with other countries in North America and Europe with different social morals. Combine the two and you have big problems for edgy programming like this.

A PC part of me wants to correct that statement about their society but with the way things are going I'm finding my self agreeing with you. The demographic is a moot point though as the anime culture is usually the same globally.
IDK how its moot when you can prove it with statistics... xD There is a stigma for watching animation past a certain age but in Europe and especially North America it seems to be a rising trend because of nostalgia or because the huimor of comedy shows are getting smarter (Bob's Burgers,Rick&Morty,Bojack horseman, etc). Side rant, why the focke wulf is R&M censored on netflix?!! stop getting the TV edits, im sick of censor beeps. :P
in other news it looks like the manga is still ongoing so the possibility of a season 2 is still there but they will obviously need a new voice actress for Anna. :/
