As there is almost no reference on this forum about helicopter simulation computer games, I thought I'd start one.
For those of you who are into helicopters but have never been able to fly a real one, I highly recommend that you try a PC heli sim. Although some are not terribly complex, much of what I have learned in the way of helicopter dynamics and avionics has been achieved through playing such games.
Even with some of the basic 'flight models' that you get, you may in fact find that just 10 minutes spent in a heli sim teaches you more about helicopter flight than 1000 pages of technical manuals. That is certainly the case with me and the Comanche, where I cannot recommend the game 'Comanche Gold' enough (and which has only recently been fixed up to run natively on Windows 7).
So I start with some clips from my YouTube channel. Some are just short clips and not great quality and perhaps no sound as, at the time, I wasn't able to upload large video files.

Enjoy!
