I never heard of it, unless you are referring to the Mi-8MTV series, otherwise re-designated to Mi-17 standards.

How about these found at flickr? They could be wrong, but they were labeled Mi-8MVT-1 and might be what he is talking about. They are all I can find with this designation.

Sounds like a misstype of the MTV-1. It is known to have it's own sub-series of designations; MTV-1, MTV-2, MTV-3, and so on. I get no results for an aircraft with the designation Mi-8MVT.

thats not it, the mvt is meant to have a nose cannon

either that or the picture that i saw was a secret variant of the MVT, i still havent found the picture but i will keep looking.

i am positive that it was spelt MVT, and the picture isaw was taken at around 6am.

Are you sure it was a cannon, not a nose sensor radome?

Take a look at these:
1): Mi-8MTV-1 Search And Rescue helicopter in service by Latvia
2): Mi-8MTV-1 of the Croatia Air Force

Hi

I have some photos of Mi-8s stored at Kubinka in 2007.

I did wonder what one of the versions was but looks like an MTPB going by something I found in this excellent forum.

Having said that, looking forward of the serial, it looks like there is a Syrian roundel so it is possibly an export version - 17PP or PSh.

Is there anyone who has a list of the 26 or so Mi8s in this compound please?

Looking on satellite images, it appears the Mi8s have gone from this compound now and been replaced by old transport types.

Rgds

Rob

There is no such thing. Maybe what you saw is the Mi-6 because Mi-8 could never carry a vehicle inside? MVT is an obvious mistake of MTV (Mi-17 series)
